  • Bookkeeping and CFO Services are separate services and one isn't required for the other. For well-rounded financial support, a lot of businesses start with bookkeeping and monthly Finance Coaching, then add on and expand their CFO services when they are ready.

  • Yes. If you already have a bookkeeper that works for you, and you also need some additional finance support, we can work alongside your existing bookkeeper — no problem.

  • Yes, there is a one-time setup fee for bookkeeping services, which matches the monthly fee. The fee is based on the package tier that you’re in, as the tier correlates to the complexity of your bookkeeping needs, and therefore the amount of work that needs to be done for setup. Setup includes tasks such as: ensuring your bank and credit cards are syncing properly; customizing your chart of accounts; and getting access to your accounts, payment processors, and reporting.

  • Yes, your bookkeeping services will be a flat rate locked in each month. The reason the rates listed say “starting at” is because within each package tier, there is still variability with price based on your business’ needs. For instance, you may be a fit for the Wave package but need some upgrades within that tier that would increase your monthly fee, yet still allow you stay in the Wave tier without needing to jump up to the Swell tier. Some common upgrades include: the number of financial accounts, the number of payment processors used (Stripe, Square, PayPal, Shopify, Venmo, etc.), accrual basis reporting, transaction volume, bank syncing, increased manual entry required based on unique business needs, project tracking, significant personal transactions, etc.

  • Great question. There are a number of factors, including but not limited to:

    • Volume of transactions

    • Manual entries vs automatically synching transactions

    • Complexity of accounts

    • Accrual vs Cash basis accounting

    • Inventory tracking

    • Project-based revenue and expense tracking

    • Number of payment processors

    • Industry-specific accounting standards (i.e. legal trust accounting)

    • Hybrid personal/business account usage

    • Level of detail

    This is why our packages have "starting at" rates. As complexity increases, you'll be notified of additional fees that might be applicable, yet may still allow you to stay within your tier.

  • We can start as your bookkeeper anytime of year. If we start mid-year with you, then your annual books will be incomplete, unless you had a previous bookkeeper or you kept them yourself. 

    If you want us clean up the months prior to us taking over your bookkeeping, we can help make sure they were done correctly and that your whole year is accurate. The additional fee for this is based on the tier you’re in and the number of months that need to be cleaned up.

    NOTE: If books were not kept (or basically not kept prior to us working with you) — i.e., less than 50% of the transactions input — then the standard monthly rate would apply for those months that need books performed.

    Rates for Cleanup for Past Months:

    • Tier 1: $199/mo

    • Tier 2: $499/mo

    • Tier 3: $799/mo

  • Yes, we can. This would be an additional fee based on the number of contractors you have that qualify for 1099s filings, as well as the volume of transactions for those contractors. You can add this service onto your bookkeeping package. Inquire for more info.
